Mandip has over 35 years of expeditions and exploration experience in 5 continents. The Indian Limca Book of records nominated him 'India's most versatile Adventurer '. He is the only Indian to be conferred the Ness Award for exploration, by the Royal Geographical Society, London.He took an Earth pledge to make a difference after an environmental expedition in 1989 - Ice walk - in the Canadian Arctic near the North Pole, supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Mandip is the Founder and Managing Director of Ibex Expeditions Private Limited. Established in 1979, it is an award winning Tourism Company in India, specializing in bespoke Adventure journeys, Ecotours, Luxury & Safari Travel.

Ibex Expeditions received the Green Globe Distinction Award, PATA Gold Award, WTM Environmental Company Award and the National Award of Excellence by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India .It is also rated one of the "Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth" by National Geographic.

He is the Founder President of The Ecotourism Society of India, Senior Vice President of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India, Trustee of the Himalayan Environment Trust, member of the National Tourism Advisory Council of India and a jury member for the National Tourism Awards of the Government of India.

He lectures worldwide on Adventure travel & Responsible tourism. Married to Anita Soin who works with him, they have two children named after the Himalaya- Himali & Himraj. His other passions, when not on expedition, are listening to Beethoven, fly fishing, indulging in puns, flipping omlettes to perfection and for relaxation he takes the occasional skydive.
He is the longest serving judge on Tourism for Tomorrow Awards panel.
