Richard Hammond is a freelance travel writer and the founder of greentraveller.co.uk, an online guide to green holidays and green places to stay. He is the editor of a worldwide guidebook to 'Green Places to Stay' (Alastair Sawday Publishing) and has for the last ten years written about green travel issues for magazines and newspapers (principally the Guardian) and is the author several analyst reports for Mintel (Redefining Ecotourism, Sustainable Tourism in the Travel Industry and Tourism and Poverty Alleviation). Richard was the Contributing Editor to the Travel Channel's six part TV series How to Holiday Greener and he is currently researching and writing the Rough Guide's forthcoming book on Green Holidays (to be published August 2009).
