AND WINNERS
The Tourism for Tomorrow selection and judging process was completely
renewed in 2005. After an initial screening to ensure that applications
adhere to the basic rules, there will
be three stages in the judging process.
Stage 1: Selection of finalists
All applications which pass the initial screening will be reviewed
by a selection committee of 12 experts. The committee will draw
up a shortlist of up to 3 applications for each category. Click
here to see the 2007 Finalist
Selection Committee.
Stage 2: On-site verification
Each of the finalists will be visited by a Tourism for Tomorrow
expert representative who will conduct an on-site verification inspection.
Once the verifications are complete, the finalists will be announced
to the press and a short brochure will be produced outlining each
initiative. Click here for
list of representatives for the 2007 awards. The representatives
for 2007 will depend on the location of the finalists and will be
posted once the visits have taken place.
Stage 3: Judging Panel
A panel, chaired by Costas
Christ, and consisting of high profile leaders in the field
of responsible travel, will select a winner for each category from
the list of finalists. Winners will be invited to the 8th Global Travel & Tourism Summit held in spring 2008 in Dubai to receive their awards.
Winners will also be announced to the press and featured by some
or all of our sponsors. Click here
